The Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra maintained a busy schedule in the 2010-2011 season, beginning with two concerts at Festival Miami in October 2010 with Tiempo Libre, and Nestor Torres.  The Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra took center stage again in November 2010 for a stage reading of a new musical called Lanza!—The Mario Lanza Story that was a collaboration between multi-Grammy winning producer Phil Ramone, and students and faculty of the Frost School of Music. Students from the Frost School of Music acted and performed in the production, wrote the songs, and orchestrated the entire musical for full orchestra.  Resident Conductor Scott Flavin directed all three events.

In Spring 2011 the Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra featuring Dean Shelly Berg, piano and Scott Flavin, conductor, performed on the Miami Civic Music Organization’s subscription program.  They also performed a combined program with the Frost Jazz Vocal 1 Ensemble, and were featured at the Sounding Off for a Cure benefit gala sponsored by Voices Against Brain Cancer, with guest artists Ky-Mani Marley (son of Bob Marley), Gloria Gaynor, The Beach Boys featuring John Stamos, Lou Gramm, and the Osmond Brothers, HMI Coordinator Steve Guerra, director.
