AD Bassoon Performance.

Gabrielle Hsu is a bassoonist currently based in Miami, Florida. She recently graduated with her Master of Music in Bassoon Performance from the Frost School of Music, where she is now continuing her studies as an Artist Diploma student of Gabriel Beavers and serving as a Henry Mancini Institute Fellow. Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, Gabrielle was introduced to the bassoon in elementary school, studying with Francine Peterson, and received her first orchestral training as a member of the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra. She earned her Bachelor of Music from Arizona State University, studying with Albie Micklich. Since moving to Miami, Gabrielle has performed as a substitute musician with orchestras such as the Palm Beach Symphony, Boca Symphonia, New World Symphony, and Orchestra Miami. She is also passionate about chamber music and is especially interested in collaborating with young emerging composers to create new works for the contrabassoon or other nonstandard instrumentations such as bassoon and marimba.
