Amy Miller Cello | HMI Fellow

Bethesda, Maryland.

DMA Cello Performance.

Amy Miller, 27 is from Bethesda Maryland where she began her cello studies. In high school she was selected to be part of the National Symphony Orchestra Fellowship Program based at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. where she had the opportunity to play side by sides with National Symphony Orchestra and perform on the Millennium Stage. Her extracurricular actives were playing with the American Youth Symphony Orchestra and singing with the Children's Chorus of Washington. Ms. Miller received her Bachelors of Music at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 2016, studying under Anthony Elliott as well as receiving a minor in Asian studies, and Masters in Music Performance at The University of Texas, El Paso in 2019, studying under Zuill Bailey. Her summers were spent at music festivals such as Interlochen Center for the Arts, Encore Coda music festival, and The Meadowmount School of Music. During her summers, Ms. Miller is on faculty as the cello teacher at Camp Encore/Coda music festival in Sweden Maine. Ms. Miller is currently a first year Doctorate student in Cello Performance and is on scholarship as a HMI Fellow and Teaching Assistant.
