Rashaad Greene Percussion | HMI Fellow

Rashaad Greene is a freelance musician and teacher who specializes in percussion and drum set. He is currently studying with Svet Stoyanov and Steve Rucker at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. Throughout college, Rashaad studied percussion with Percussion Collective members Ji Hye Jung and Ayano Kataoka, as well as former Principal Timpanist of Nashville Symphony Orchestra, Bill Wiggins. Rashaad has studied drum set with highly esteemed teachers, such as Derrek Phillips, Tom Giampietro, Jeff Hamilton, Chester Thompson, Jordan Perlson, and Jeffrey Lien. He studied hand percussion under the instruction of Glen Velez, Yousif Sheronick, Mat Britain, and Birger Sulsbrück. With credit to many remarkable teachers, Rashaad has developed a plethora of musical concepts and explored numerous musical genres, making him a diverse and versatile musician. While he is passionate about performing and recording music, Rashaad finds great meaning and enjoyment when he has the opportunity to share his musical experiences with others.
